Memorable Moments: My first day at Riverstone
Dojo. It was fun and exciting, but at the same time daunting. I wondered how on earth I was going to remember everything we went through that day and First Kata seemed the hardest thing I ever had to learn. Now 3 years later I am stronger mentally and physically and can learn a new Kata in just 15 minutes! Another memorable moment was taking over Friday night class at Plumpton and watching my class grow in size and my students grow with their training and confi dence. I would have to say that is one of the best things about Karate that will
be with me always.
Words of Wisdom: I know it feels daunting when
you fi rst start out, believe me we have all been
there, just stick to it because it does get easier. If
you feel you are having trouble or feeling frustrated,
talk to your Sensei and let them help you through
it, that is what we are here for. Remember that
you’re not expected to know everything you learn
in one lesson, choose one thing out of your lesson
and focus on that for the rest of the week. Also try
to attend all the Seminars, they are put on just for
your benefi t and you can learn much more in one
Seminar than you do in a months worth of classes
and they are loads of fun too!!
